For all of you out there that share the same love of chocolate that we have – this one if for you! Now picture this, it’s Friday morning and you have totally enjoyed sleeping in and you want to treat yourself to a delicious breakfast. Why not ditch the usual eggs and toast and go for a more sweet brekky!
We love a good old waffle, so we were more than excited when we tried out this chocolate-covered waffle recipe. Get out that waffle griddle and get cookin’. Following these easy steps, these chocolate waffles can be yours!
2 Eggs
75 g Butter
300 ml Milk
150 ml Whipping Cream
200 g Flour
150 g Dark Chocolate
60 g Sugar
1 packet of Baking Soda
2 Pinches of Salt
1. In a saucepan, pour milk and 80 ml of your whipping cream. Slowly add in butter pieces and salt. Heat over a low heat.
2. Pour flour into a bowl and add in sugar, baking powder and eggs. Blend the mixture together until it turns into a smooth and foamy batter.
3. Heat up your waffle iron. Pour a small ladle of batter over the entire surface of the waffle iron and cook for 4 minutes. Keep waffles warm.
4. Grate your dark chocolate into a bowl.
5. Heat the remaining whipping cream over the stove and once hot, pour over the chocolate and stir until you get a smooth, thick sauce.
5. Divide the waffles on plates, coat generously with chocolate sauce and serve immediately.
