Most Expensive Wedding Dresses in History

What bride doesn’t wanna look like a million dollars on her wedding day? Her wedding dress is a major part of wedding planning, and likely something that she has been envisioning for years. While most brides-to-be will likely try on countless dresses before finding“the one”, when you know, you know. These days, dresses are available at a wide variety of price ranges. A gown can be as simple, or as elaborate, as a bride wishes and her budget allows. For this list, we’re rounding up some of the most expensive wedding dresses ever worn by a bride to her wedding. So, that means we’re not including gowns that are worth several million, by designers like Martin Katz Jewelers and Yumi Katura. These gowns are covered in diamonds and precious metals, but were mostly showpieces and have never been sold. So, they don’t count. Sorry, not sorry.

Victoria Swarovski’s 4.4 Million AED Wedding Dress

While it’s rumored that Angelababy, a Chinese star’s wedding dress likely cost more, the true price of her dress has never been revealed. Therefore, this dress takes the cake for expensive wedding dresses. Given her last name, it may come as no surprise that the gown was covered in over 500,000 crystals. It also weighed a whopping 45 kgs. Imagine trying to carry all that extra weight down the aisle with the over 6 meters of train behind you.

Kim Kardashian’s 1.96 Million AED Wedding Dress

Is there anything that Kim does that isn’t completely over the top? Her wedding dress certainly wasn’t about to be something off a clearance rack. In her 2014 marriage to Kanye West, Kim strutted down the aisle wearing a custom couture Givenchy gown. Of course, this was only one wedding dress Kim would wear that day. She would later sport a shorter gown, by another designer, later in the festivities.

Amal Alamuddin’s 1.88 Million AED Wedding Dress

Let’s face it Amal could basically wear a burlap bag, and she would still look absolutely gorgeous. However, when she wed formerly habitual bachelor George Clooney, she opted for custom Oscar de la Renta instead. It would actually be the last wedding dress the designer would create before he died. The dress was such a piece of art, that it was even put on exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts.

Kate Middleton’s 1.59 Million AED Wedding Dress

If you’re going to be a royal, what better day to start dressing like royalty than your wedding day. This expensive number was designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. Many drew the comparison between the bride-to-be’s look for the nuptials, and the groom’s late mother, Princess Di. Princess Diana actually held the title for the most expensive wedding dress in history for many years. However, that particular crown has been passed since.
