Yeah!// Usher

This song was absolutely everywhere for awhile. You could try to run, you could attempt to hide, but it would find you. And, it would make you move your feet. In fact, we feel it only kind to warn you about clicking the link to the video below if you are at work. Or, if you’re in the middle of a crowded space. You’re not going to be able to resist dancing. The song blends rap, R&B, hip-hop, and soul elements. It spent an obscene amount of time on the top of charts in several countries. Not to mention, being responsible for clubs across the globe having plenty of people on the dance floor.

Don’t Stop The Music//Rihanna

When queen Rihanna speaks, we listen. This song was a track on her 2007 album, Good Girl Gone Bad. While Rhi Rhi has produced plenty of songs that make you get up out of your chair, this one certainly endures as one of her best dance songs. It’s a little techno, a little synth, a smidge euroclub, and a touch bass. As a whole? It’s totally irresistible.

Poker Face//Lady Gaga

Early 2000’s Lady Gaga was definitely all about the artistry. But, she was also all about making you want to rock out and dance. While “Just Dance” might seem the more obvious choice for a list about dance songs, “Poker Face” actually had a beat and a robotic like hook that made people wanna move. The song came from Gaga’s debut album, The Fame. The synth-pop hit is just a tad flirty, and slightly bawdy when you come right down to it. But those beats though!

SexyBack//Justin Timberlake

Finally breaking away from the restraints that came with being a member of a boy band, Justin Timberlake embarked on a solo career. He not only debuted a solid solo album, but tamed hair, and a much more rock/R&B album than straight pop. The pounding beats and electronic pops found in the song help make it a dance song you will definitely sway to.

Hey Ya! //OutKast

It was the dance song that told everyone out there to “shake it like a Polaroid picture”. Which, funnily enough, prompted the Polaroid company to warn people to not actually shake their pictures. Apparently doing so can ruin them. Bad picture advice aside, the song was a huge hit. It spent a long time on top of many a country’s music charts. Peppy, upbeat, and with a rhythm and basic drum line that just couldn’t be denied, this dance song remains one of the greats.
